rube golberg
Rube Goldberg Main Point of Interest Questions-Ryan Colley, Robert Haggart, Ari Liberman.
-How did you go about designing your rube? (Show your initial draft design, show a video of another rube that inspired you)
The begin designing our Rube Goldberg, we downloaded the software Google Sketchup and made a 3D model of our soon to be contraption. After spending around 4-5 hours on the program creating our 3D model, we completed the model and started writing our steps down on a piece of paper. After all of that was complete, we began construction on our Rube Goldberg which we completed a week or two later.
-What steps were most challenging to make it work? (How did you troubleshoot or redesign?)
The most challenging step that we had to complete was the pulley system that we had to create in order to launch the catapult. We could not generate enough force to pull the catapult down to the point of launch. We eventually asked our physics teacher Brian for help and he suggested to put a weight in one of the boxes and have the marble knock the box off of the trap which ultimately worked better.
-What skills did you learn?
Some of the skills that we learned while creating our Rube Goldberg we teamwork and construction skills. Creating a project of this magnitude really helped us get more acquainted with more power tools as well as the construction aspect of construction and measurements. It also helped learn more about teamwork and how relying on each other can be a big risk but it pays off in the end. This project has taught us more about teamwork and construction.

How does technology effect us
In this project we took a subject on how technology affects us and did research on or tested the subject. We came up with a subject a test and then created a report of our results. The subject we did was how different alarm tones affect wakeup time.
I have shown the most growth in time management In the classroom. At the beginning of this project didn't manage my time very well because I thought I didn't have anything to do, afterwards I realized that I was behind on my tests so I Manages my time better.
